How We Check Restaurant Menus
Our goal is to publish useful Canadian menu information without making prices or availability look more certain than they really are.
1. We start with official Canadian sources
We check the restaurant’s official Canadian website, online ordering system, app, or published menu document first. These sources are preferred for item names, categories, availability, nutrition information, and prices.
2. We use a Canadian location when pricing is local
Many restaurant chains do not have one national price list. If the official ordering system requires a restaurant location before showing prices, we select a Canadian location and record which location was checked during research.
3. We do not convert U.S. prices
Canadian menu pages are researched for Canada. We do not take a U.S. menu price, convert it to Canadian dollars, and present the result as a Canadian restaurant price.
4. We clearly handle missing information
If a reliable Canadian price cannot be verified, we say so rather than filling the gap with an estimate. We also avoid presenting an unverified third-party price as though it came from the restaurant.
5. We check Canadian item names and availability
Menus can differ between Canada and other countries. We use Canadian item names and include items only when the available evidence supports their Canadian availability.
6. We date checks honestly
A menu page may show a “last checked” date only when that menu was actually checked on that date. We do not pre-date updates.
A note about prices and availability
Restaurant prices, promotions, hours, and item availability can vary by location and can change without notice. The restaurant’s own ordering system remains the best place to confirm the final price for a specific order.
Browse the restaurant menu directory to see this process applied to individual Canadian menus. If you spot a change, use our Contact page to send a correction. You can also read our Independence Disclaimer.
